Meet the Team

Our little team has grown in recent months so we thought we would introduce everybody and let you know who's who!

Laura

Laura created The Homemade Brownie Company back in 2016 and is Head Baker.  Having had a gluten intolerance for 16 years she started baking to find a way to create food that she could eat that didn't compromise on flavour.  Laura cares passionately about making a great product and obsesses over getting the quality of everything we produce right!  Prior to The Homemade Brownie Company Laura had a small cake business called Cakealicious by Laura and is also a qualified hairdresser.  Outside of work she loves catching up with family and friends and can often be found with a glass of Gin or Prosecco in hand!

Favourite flavour: Lemon Blondie

Helena

Helena joined the team earlier this year as Assistant Baker.  She is new to the area having re-located with her husband who works for the RAF locally.  Helena has fitted into the team seamlessly and is great to have around, often heard singing in the kitchen!  During her University years she studied music, drama and theatre including spending a year studying in New York.  Prior to joining our team Helena worked in travel and retail and outside of work has helped out behind the scenes at some amazing shows including 'Sister Act', 'Hairspray' and 'Romeo and Juliet'!

Favourite flavour: Lemon Blondie

Paige

Paige also joined the team earlier this year and has very quickly become a huge asset to the team, taking charge of the packing and wrapping of all orders as well as preparing everything for the Events Reps ahead of each event!  She has also recently introduced The Homemade Brownie Company to TikTok and will be managing that moving forwards. Paige runs 2 small businesses in her spare time and is also writing her own Fantasy books!  She previously worked in retail and other local food outlets.

Favourite flavour: Mint Chocolate

Jasmine

Jasmine has been with us for almost 6 months on the Government's Kickstart scheme, designed to get young people back into work.  She's been a great help to us during her time, doing all of the preparation work for the baking, flying through the mountains of washing and drying up each day and also helping get things ready for events.  Away from work Jasmine spends her spare time cooking, reading and watching films.

Favourite flavour: Snickers

Adam

Adam is Laura's husband and has been helping with the admin side of the business since it began.  He originally qualified as an accountant and spent 15 years in the corporate world, before briefly moving into consultancy and then joining a small business supplies company.  He joined The Homemade Brownie Company full time in 2020 during the Covid surge and now looks after much of what goes on outside of the kitchen.  Adam's currently training for his first marathon having been a keen Crossfitter for several years.

Favourite flavour: Coffee Caramel

Charlie

Charlie has been our Events Rep out running most of our events over the last 12 months.  As Laura and Adam's son he's been involved in the business since the early days, often being called on to pack boxes on busy days when things were still run from home!  Charlie is off to study Business & Economics at Liverpool University in September and will be sorely missed at both home and work when he goes (although we're sure he'll be called on to help cover events during his Christmas and Summer breaks next year!).  Away from work Charlie plays football and cricket.

Favourite flavour: Chocolate Orange

Hannah

Hannah has also been busy on the events scene since joining us as an Events Rep in April, mainly covering local Farmer's Markets and travelling further afield to several County Shows.  Before joining our team Hannah worked in catering and previously studied photography.  She also had her own food photography business and currently runs a candle-making business.  We're hoping to put her photography skills to use in the future with some improved shots for our own website and social media platforms!  Hannah will also be leading our pitch at Winchester Cathedral this Christmas.

Favourite flavour: Double Chocolate

Ollie

Ollie is another member of our Events Rep team and has run stalls for us at a number of local events this year.  Ollie previously ran his own businesses, Ministry of Fudge and Amore Cheesecakes, and picked up 3 separate young entrepreneur awards for those ventures!  Prior to that he was a National Hunt horse racing jockey, riding an impressive 6 winners from 67 starts, but a badly broken leg forced him to retire at just 20!

Favourite flavour: Raspberry Blondie

Daisy

Daisy is the youngest member of the team and works as a part-time Events Rep at weekends and during the holidays alongside her college studies.  Daisy has covered a number of local and Hampshire Farmer's Markets for us already and we hope she'll be able to get out to more for us over the coming years.  Away from studying and work Daisy plays rugby at County level.

Favourite flavour: Blondie Brownie

Annabel

Annabel joined the team earlier this year and fits in some Events Rep work for us alongside running her own personal training business.  Before she entered the world of fitness she had her own catering business so is a natural at events!

Favourite flavour: Snickers

As well as our awesome existing team, we're always on the lookout for good, enthusiastic people as the business continues to grow.  We're particularly busy around Christmas and the summer events season, so often bring in temporary team members to help us during those times.  If you'd be interested in finding out more about joining our small team (either permanently or to help out during busy times) please do get in contact via the 'Contact Us' page and we'd love to have a chat!
